My work is inspired by craft and pottery traditions that are sensitive to the beauty of natural materials and attentive to infusing everyday life with aesthetic pleasure.

I studied pottery in Mashiko, Japan and while I am unable to fire a wood-burning kiln here in Brooklyn, I do throw on a wooden Japanese kick wheel. I make my glazes using clay and wood ash that I collect in the Berkshires.

I strive to make simple, functional pieces that are pleasing to look at and satisfying to hold and use.
